Many of you have heard of NICA, the National Interscholastic Cycling Association. It is a fantastic organization that is making it possible for High Schools around the country to have Mountain Bike teams. Many of you, though, are probably not aware that Matt Fritzinger was inspired by his summer at Velo Veneto to take his Berkeley High School MTB team to the next level!

For the full story, read Ashley Gruber’s interview with Matt on Pez.

If you are lucky enough to live in an area that already has teams and/or leagues, go check out a race! The atmosphere is contagious, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. If there isn’t a team or league in your area yet, you can learn how to start a team or league.

Grazie, Matt, for everything that you have done!
