Ron
For Renato “Ron” Palazzo, Velo Veneto was a labor of love for 18 years. Since founding the camp in 1986, Ron has introduced literally hundreds of English speaking cyclists to racing the Italian way and just as importantly, to the Italian way of life, la dolce vita. Ron still spends the summers in Castelcucco and will join us for training rides or an afternoon chat from time to time.
Pat
Pat has been the Direttore Sportivo of Velo Veneto since 2004 and has been racing since 1994. He’s competed in over 600 races, including over 100 in Italy and Europe. Pat competes at both the Masters 45+ and Pro/1/2 level. His best placing in Italy was a 4th in the Circuito di Farra near Belluno. Pat has been a race director and team manager from club level up to UCI women’s stage races.
Jason
Velo Veneto offered the perfect opportunity to combine his experience in the travel and tourism industry and cycling, so in 2009, Jason became part of the team. On the bike, Jason’s sprinter’s legs have carried him to numerous victories around the US, including the prestigious Sea Otter Classic in California. Off the bike, his sales and marketing experience will help grow Velo Veneto and establish industry partnerships for the benefit of our riders. His operations experience in tour planning will enable Velo Veneto to respond to our riders’ interests by developing new cycling programs.
